Default My SISTER killed my transmission... project car anyone?

So.... Saturday I'm flying down to florida to meet my team for spring training. While i'm at the airport, i get a call from my sis back home in seattle who's driving my car while i'm away at school on the east coast. She's caused (and had) plenty of problems with it in the past and pretty much hates the car. Anyway, she calls and is freaking out because the A4 wont shift out of first (it's a tip) and was being really hard to drive. I make sure she's not doing anything really, really dumb, but can't troubleshoot too well on the phone a whole country away.

Long story short, she has it towed to our mechanic, who gets underneath and realizes she's ripped out the bottom of the tranny and destroyed the transmission completely. Apparently, she hit something in the road but didn't think it did any damage (WTF?!?!). We've had to fix plenty of things on the car over the years, and I decided with my parents it's not worth it to fix it, since i was planning on selling it anyway, and my sis wants to get a normal car of her own for commuting.

So now I'm trying to figure out the best course of action for me... we're thinking of either selling it for salvage (not sure how) or selling it as a project car for someone. The engine is fine, and before the tranny took a bullet, was running strong in its stage 2 configuration. Any ideas or estimates on what I could get price-wise would be greatly appreciated. *sigh*.... thanks.
