Default 60k Tune & Timing belt service

So the big 60 is coming up on my battle wagon and I had a few questions..

I went by werkshop and it looks like it will cost around $1000.00 for the 60k service and the Timing belt and water pump to be replaced. Does this sound right?

Also ECS has a complete timing belt kit for 270.00 for my 99.5 A4 1.8T Q, is this kit any good? I saw most of the parts were OEM, but the timing belt was 3rd party..

Also, if you guys know of other shops I should hit up...

Thanks,

Owen

Default I paid 1k at Cascade Auto in redmond

Not sure if I'd recommend them or not since most people seem to say $700-$1k is good for that service.

Also, I've had a oil leak since the work. I'm bringing it back hoping they'll fix it since it didn't leak before I had it brought in...

Default Re: Redmond Werkshop hands down

Just go to http://yp.yahoo.com and type in Redmond Werkshop and you'll find the number. It's a great shop with excellent mechanics.

I had them install my snub mount while they we're in replacing the timing belt, water pump and temperature ??. Anyway the total came to $650 for everything, to say the least I was extremely happy as the stealership was going to charge $1200 for just the timing belt and water pump.

And do yourself a favor and replace that snub mount as well, it makes a nice difference in stop and go traffic. Just pick one up at Achtuning next door to Redmond Werkshop for a few bucks ($50 max).

Did you supply them with the parts are did you have them order it for you on your timing belt. The reason I ask is the ECS kit is 270.00 and has everything in it, plus belts...

I have a Tip trans, don't think the snub mount will work? ( Ok so I suck at parts )
