Default 1.8T Mod Idea's???

Click the image to open in full size.

I'm not very familiar with the engine mods that are available for the 1.8T . I'm going to do the chip, exhuast & diverter valve but I don't know what specific brands I should go with. I would like to know what everyone is using and what they like or dislike about it. I drive about 60 miles a day so I need upgrades that are dependable and reliable. I do not want anything that is going to blow up the turbo in the first 30 day's (or maybe I do so I can upgrade it as well?)What about intakes? Your comments are very appreciated. Thanks.

Old Car Sig.

Default I would say GIAC or APR for chips.

I had an APR chip on my A4, it was very flexable since you can switch between programs...Stock mode, valet, chipped mode, and race gas mode. Also you can update software at home or at achtuning (APR dealer now) instead of sending your whole ECU off. I would also recommend a snubmount and/or DTS from AWE to tighten up the shifter feel, and then installing a short shifter. After owning my S4 I can honestly say I really miss the shifting of the A4, it's so much smoother and responds very well to aftermarket shifters.

Default GIAC is where it's at

but APR is closeby at Achtuning... a lot of people like Borla exhausts, great bang for the buck. that's what i'm gonna get soon. As for DV, just get a 710N...only 30 bux and it works just as well as any Forge/Bailey/etc...

You dont need an intake, but having one lets you hear the turbo a lot more...i like mine. Chips are very reliable. I have about 1000 miles on mine so far, and lots of people have gone 60k to 100k miles with no issues. just make sure someone good does it.

Default I have always thought ......

GIAC was the better option but, with Achtuning selling the APR DPP and the multiple program capability it would seem to be a good selling point....and APR has always been at the forefront of Audi tuning and development...both are respectable, reliable, and comparable in output.
