Default The Audi Roadjet? ...

Click the image to open in full size.

Introduced on Sunday: Audi Roadjet design study

Is it real? Quite possibly. As it has with many of its other concept vehicles, Audi expects to eventually build something similar to the Roadjet concept. We don't expect the rear-seat
espresso machine to be standard equipment, however.
What's the point? The Roadjet fits nicely between the Audi A4 and A6, allowing the company to fill that void in its product lineup.
The company line: "A form characterized by sportiness as well asspace," said Martin Winterkorn, Audi's chief executive, who claimed the Roadjet sets new records for roominess.
The view from here: Audi designed the car to give each of the four passengers a separate zone. This is especially true in the back seat where both passengers have their own LCD screens. Unfortunately, they have to share the espresso maker in the center console between them.
What makes it tick? A new 3.2-liter V-6 with a valve-control system that Audi says will save on fuel by adjusting how wide engine valves open
based on load and engine speeds.
How much, how soon? Audi says that if it decides to produce something like the Roadjet, it would be at least a year and a half before one could be built. Since the Sportjet would fall into a segment between the $30,000 A4 and the $40,000 A6, expect the price to be somewhere between the two.
How does it look? Aside from a grille that looks like it belongs on a semitruck, this one looks like a genuine Audi. And until you watch the rear door pop open, it's easy to miss that this is a hatchback.

Default Roadjet or what perhaps was the A5

Certain angles has the curves from BMW, especially around the front. The back reminds me of something that came from the Alfa Romeo (guess the head designer is d'Silva who came from Alfa).

A DSG that works with a longitudinally mounted engine and torsen quattro, not like today's DSG - only with transversly mounted engines and haldex system. Might see this in the RS4 possibly.

I'm happy to see another naturally aspirated engine from Audi where the hp is fairly high.... 300hp from a 3.2L FSI V6. Now stick some turbos on there!

I'm not too keen on the interior, honeycomb vents detracts from the overall styling and sort of cheapens the interior, maybe take the interior from the Shooting Brake.....

Default Is it me? or does Mercedes seem to have the upper hand with great looking cars now?

Quite a leap as the Audi always took top spots in my books(between Audi, BMW and Mercedes) for "nice" looking sedans.....now with the Roadjet crap.....I dunno. I mean, look at the CLS, the new S-Class, current SLK, ML and the soon to be intro C class.....they are coming up strong. Just the look here guys.....not the touch n feel aspect.....although I just drove the SLK AMG and it was beautifully finished and "mean" looking

Default LOL, we were talking about the latest styling with Audi

Have you seen the S-class interior? I haven't until I seen this... it's just awful period.

Default Yeah it's horrible

I don't care how nice the S is outside, if the interior is this bland and uninspiring, nothing on the outside can make up for this.
