Default I've used mine there. No probs. Just hardwire it and clip it to your visor.

They are undetectable to the VG2 detector detector.

Default Make sure the LEDs are not visible from behind the car.

Couple friends have lost their detectors from cops seeing the LEDs up on their visors. One friend lost two detectors at the same time; he thought he'd be clever and give the cops his ****ty one when asked for it. Cop said, "that's not the one I saw in your window". Double oops.

Email me for some slightly more concealed placement options that I'd rather not post.

Default hmmm, I've been thinking about the same thing...

...since my trip to Montreal last weekend. No tickets, but plenty of scares!

I've been doing a little research and the V1 seems to be the real-deal...imo.

...my only problem is, I don't like it mounted on the windshield or rearview, and Mr. Valentine says you can't do a concealed install because of the calibration between the front/rear sensors...

I don't like tinted windows, so the darn thing will be in plain view of everyone, which kinda sucks...

Anyone know what some other options there are...?

Default The Passport 8500 fits nicely on a 2002 A4 on the windshield just above the rear view mirror.

Default I would never use it in Ontario because that would be illegal...

But I've got a V1 and either mount it above my rear view mirror or right at the bottom of my front windshield just above wiper line.

Of course I would only ever use this device where it's legal.

I just don't see using it for cruising around town...that's begging to get it pinched.

Default I haven't seen laser outside 416/905 even once.

The road patrols have to use radar due to physics and the smaller
non-400-series highway towns are still using stationary cars with
radar from what I've seen. The only places I ever see laser are the
downtown core (nailed once there) and highways in the 905 areas.

Even a police scanner helps in the outlying areas because (and I'm
guessing here) it seems the cops get lonely, hence they're on their
air all the time. You'll hear them coming. If you could combine a nice
scanner with a V1 or similar you would be well-protected outside of
the big laser areas, especially if you're following good rules of quiet
speeding anyway (not blasting over ridges, watching medians, take
the speed down when making 80-to-50 km/h transitions into towns
because the local detachments guard the borders of their local home
towns like forts, etc).

Default Got a laser ticket in Kitchener/Waterloo area, four years ago.

It's out there. I see them with laser all the time on the Kingston/Cornwall corridor.

Having said that, radar is still the majority of use. Any solo-car trap will be radar. Big-production four car speed traps tend more towards laser when available.
