Default thinking about getting my car professionally detailed

i have a few light scratches that i'd like to see if the pros could buff out. plus it'd be nice to have the paint back to 100% after parking outside, next to inconsiderate people.

do you guys have any suggestions on where to go? apparently the guy who owns detailed image (i think its by baltimore) is an aw'er. i might see what he can do for me. has anybody ever had anybody in the NOVA area do this?

and i have never had my car detailed (not big on paying for what i can do). is there anything i should make sure i get done/avoid?

Thanks fellas

Default Crosspost to the Detail Forum. If there's anyone from DC, they'll be able to tell you a good place.

Default I get mine done sometimes at Details in Rockville...

Other times, I have a guy who makes house calls. Very convenient.

Default Don't go to Dr. Wash on Rt.50, Chantilly.

Took my gf's car there, and they used Armor-All for the interior, even the steering wheel. :/ They forgot to wipe off the excess oil. Had to complain to manager to get it wiped down, but you know how it is with that stuff... too shiny, slippery forever, then sticky as it dries.
Which brings up another point: Ask for a list of products they'll use on your car, whereever you're going.

Default Do it yourself! Much cheaper to buy a buffer and supplies and be able to do it anytime yourself...

Click the image to open in full size.

Then paying the money to have it done once.
