Default I might as well get a new key

I even called Alexandria. HBL wants $200 for a new key. alexandria wants 175 for a new key and 125 to program it....such a rip off

Default skip the dealers try a locksmith or a hardware store

most dealers won't cut keys you bring to them because if they F-up then they would have to give your one of their key blanks for free.

Default I thought all you had to do to program it was put it in the door and hit some buttons.

Default My point exactly...the guy tried to make it seem as if it was

a time consuming and complex procedure.

Default You have the key blank? I went to Springfield VW.

The kids at the parts counter did it for free. And they gave me batteries. I just gave em each $10 for it.

It took about 5 passes through the machine to get it to work. Then just use it for a while and it will loosen up.

I got a blank key on ebay for $50.
