Cross-post from S4 board: Looking for info on driving in NY-state.

Going on a weekend getaway up towards Ticonderoga and probably will be taking 87 most of the way after I get out of Jersey I guess. Also will be making a pit stop in Albany. Can anyone advise me on how tightly the speed limits are enforced both on highways and back roads, predominance of radar vs laser, are there toll roads (if so do they take EZ Pass), etc? Anything else I should know?

As far as the coppers go, I have been pulled over twice on the NY Throughway. But that was a while back. There should be plenty of traffic with you just dont look to obvious.
