Default Today must be my Lucky Day ........

Called DELL for warranty service on my business pc. It only took 15 minutes for them to schedule a hard drive replacement for tomorrow. :-)

RAID 1 FTMFW!

You lucked out Anthony. It usually takes me 3 calls, 2 escalations, a formal written notice, and extensive high blood pressure to get action on extended warranties.

Default Hey stranger, long time no see. Ken, you've been lurking around here and not posting?

I'm not looking forward to my call to replace the hd on the "family" pc at home. I've been putting it off. It's going to be very frustrating, not to mention the b.s. of having to reload everything. Perhaps I'll do it when you come down next month. ;-)

Default two hard drives doing the exact same thing, basically backing each other up, in case one fails......

you don't lose anything and the pc keeps working. When the new blank hd is installed, it will copy everything from the working hd. No reloading of operating system and programs, etc and no lost files.

Default That utility was of termendous help when dealing with DELL. The support person had me run one ......

diagnostic on the hd's at start up and when that failed, he authorized the replacement. Oh, and the drive that failed was the main hd, so if I didn't buy the raid set up, I would have been in a world of sh*t, even if the important files were backed up to an external hd, on a regular basis.
