Default What are the drawbacks to purchasing and insuring a vehicle with a salvage title??

If it is in good mechanical/visual condition? I have seen a few vehicles that are normally worth a lot more, but are sold for much less because of that title.

Default Assuming all is fine mechanically then I would think that resale value is the challenge

Default If you are already paying a super low price for it in the first place, what would the resale matter?

Default IMO, that would be the BIGGEST thing one would ASS*U*ME....

Agreed, resale might not be a big concern, but I'd want to know from someone I trusted *WHY* it had a salvage title.

LOTS of electrical gremlins in flood vehicles for instance....

Default insurance

most insurers will only allow you to carry liability insurance on a car with a salvage title - if you wreck it you'll end up paying to fix it again. Insurance wont pay to fix a salvaged car.

PS sent you a mail about my rover pics - I cant get out of the office today to get some taken, but should be able to tomorrow.

Default negative ghostrider.......

my S4 is a salvage title.......I have had it fully insured by State Farm and Allstate.

I don't know of any bank that will loan for a salvage title so you got to pay cash money.

IMHO, Salvage Title cars are not bad cars like almost everyone makes them out to be. If it was repaired right then they are no different than another. My S4 looks, drives, feels, and is just as fast as any other.

Default Agreed. Also, having a TIP is much worse than having a salvage title :p

Is your fueling kit on the way?
