Default Quality Auto Sound should be firebombed..............

A couple of days ago I posted a comment abotu how ****ty QAS was to me and the run around they were giving me.

So today, after talking to the store manager on Friday, I took my pickup in to have them fix my alarm. When I got there, 2nd person in line, 2nd vehicle in line, I was told that I would have to leave it for the day as they could not guarentee to get to it right away. But wait, I thought it was first come, first served. So, after arguing with the store manager, interestingly enough mine was the third vehicle pulled in, they finally got on it.

Now the store opened at 8am, by 9am they were done with, if they hadn't argued with me, they would have been done by 845. The manager tells me, "well we don't know for sure what's wrong with the system until we check it out." Great, chop chop, get to it.

Turns out we were right all along, the valet switch was broken, and the remotes had lost communication with the brain. So after replacing the valet switch, and recoding the remotes, they finally bring the vehicle around. The installer then tells me that one of my two remotes is bad. The manager tosses both remotes and my keys at me and walks away. They never came and asked if I wanted to buy a new remote or anything.

Since I was already seething, I just left. I called two other QAS stores to see what the price and availability was for the remotes, and I get this BS response:
"well sir, I can't give you that price over the phone, we have an agreement with DEI to not release that information".
Well, how much money approximently should I bring?
"Alot, they are damn expensive"

Hmmm, now DEI makes, Python, Viper, and Clifford alarm systems. So I called Car Toys and Ultimate Electronics. Both places carry the DEI line, but under the Python and Clifford brands (but all are interchangable). Both of these places had no problem at all quoting me the price of the remote and the cost to do the coding, and both places when they found out that QAS was jacking me around were more than happy to butt me in front of someone else for the 5 minute coding process.

So, QAS has lost a customer for life, as far as I'm concerned, if I ever go back it will be to firebomb the place (J/K). Just a recommendation to all to avoid these SOB's like the plague.
