Default ACGG: rss feed, and suggestions solicited

I just thought I would post a couple items..

We have new rss feeds available now, so if you are so inclined, you can keep up to date on the latest info from the Audi Club Golden Gate Chapter.
feed://www.audiclubgoldengate.org/acgg.xml

Also, I would like to solicit some suggestions from the Audiworld readers. What would you like to see or not see on the website?

What do you guys want to see? We want to make sure the ACGG website is the best it can be for our membership

Thanks!

Default I'm rarely on acgg, only when info comes out about upcoming events. Having someone links here

until traffic gets larger would be most helpful in getting things up and running. BTW, we need more than just a handful of events a year. Most audi related gtg's I attend are either initiated by myself or another local audi enthusiast. ACGG needs better PR imho.

Default Better PR

Well the full 2007 calendar has not been posted on the site yet, but there will be 14 official events this year ranging from our typical driving schools to our first swap meet, first member picnic/concourse, first teen driving clinic, Q7 off road rally/drive and new Monterey drive and more. This is an addition of 7 new events this year alone.

Our membership is up 15 percent over last year and we are now the 2nd largest chapter in the nation- almost 900 members. The ALMS event we had in October was the largest member attended event in the history of the club - nationwide. We are also the #1 chapter in dealer sponsorships, 3rd party service providers and aftermarket sponsors in the country - by well over 50 percent.

While localized get-together's provide a great casual way for us Audi owners to meet, the extremely large geographical area of our chapter - Fresno to Oregon and all of Northern Nevada, makes attending these difficult for the majority of the membership. We have organized a few g2g around the bay (Sia Bani) and Sacramento (Gary Hawkins), both who are on the PR committee and have had good turnouts, but lack the repeat of attendance by the members and non-members. Larger scale events like we have put on in the past and the new types as mentioned above will hopefully help provide an avenue that all members would like to participate in.

So while the PR may not be up to you high standards why not step up to the plate and offer some assistance and ideas rather than bashing the club on this board?

Default whoah, take it down a notch Angryman! Recheck my post for club bashing and you'll find none!

The ALMS event in October was well done. Plenty of time and publicity was given yo make that event a success. How about we continue along that path. And I'll be looking forward to attending as many of those 14 events in 2007 as I possibly can.

Suggestions were asked for and I was the first to post.

That is all.

Default How about a forum or two?

Similar to what David has going at Hookedondriving.com. It would be nice to be able to communicate with the ACGG members specifically. I'd include an instructors forum as well as we can trade tips, suggestions etc.

Looking forward to discussing P-cars with you at Thunderhill.

Default "ACGG needs better PR imho" if not a bash then what is it - get involved from the inside,we're ...

always open to new ideas and suggestions, we don't have all the answers but are making huge strides in improving the club as a whole.

If I come off "angry" it's because I care what's said about the club - in any public forum, positive experiences and constructive criticism is what makes us better, nothing more, nothing less.

Obviously I personally monitor the various boards and forums - I take most of what I read and work it into the things the members would like to see us do, negative criticism without facts, solutions or ideas does nothing for any of us.

Thanks

Default "if not a bash then what is it" - how about constructive criticism IN MY HUMBLE OPINION

could it be that maybe you're taking this as a personal attack and thats why you're coming across as angry and now defensive and bullying???

Ask around. I've been an active part of the audi community for several years now not only going to events, but hosting them as well. Therefore, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, when suggestions are solicited, I "actively get involved from the inside."

Default Re: How about a forum or two?

I have always thought we wouldn't want to 'compete' with AW, and use this excellent forum vs trying to create our own. Hmm, but if there is enough interest we could obviously do that. Most of our events, etc are posted here in the Norcal for discussion generally.

Thanks for the response.
