Default SF people without a place to wash your car, where do you go?

I've been told by my homeowner's association that I can no longer clean my car where I live. This sucks, but they have good reasoning.

This leaves me with nowhere to wash my car. I've thought about the coin-op self wash places, but they're $3 for 5 minutes! It usually takes me at least an hour to *nicely* clean my car. Not to mention, I don't want to tie up a stall for that long because it's rude.

So, where are other people in a similar situation going to wash up? Driving a dirty car is not an option.

Thanks!

Default I'm in the same position as you, but in PA.

Took my car to an awesome handwash place yesterday, full wash etc for 13 bucks. That included tire dressing too. They didn't scratch the wheels.

The prob with my setup is that even if I pull onto the street, there's no hose access. So I'd have to have them wash, then I'd have to wax and do the remainder of the "Detail" myself. No biggie...just that there's no time anymore. I figure once a month, I'll manage to go somewhere, a friends' place and do a thorough wash/wax/interior detail etc.

But you can't beat 13 bucks for a quality wash in PA. It's amazing how the cost of living down here is much less than SF! The equivalent wash is $24 up there, even in Berkeley or other parts of the east bay. And to elaborate on the bang for the buck at "Auto pride car wash", for them to even shampoo your mats, it's only like 16 bucks total!

Default Oh ok - I wouldn't let them do the tire dressing, it's not quality stuff

Tires might start to look worse when it dries...

Default If that's all you think isn't quality, that's okay by me ;-)

It looks pretty good today, 3-4 days later...as long as you don't say your paint vanishes by the soap they use, it's all good. ;-D
