Default P0171 won't go away

Hi all,

I've had my check engine light go on and off for the last 3 or 4 months. I took it to the dealer once and they replaced a couple of hoses but said they weren't 100% sure it would fix it. I took it to an independent shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I've made sure to tighten my gas cap at every fill up, cleared the codes many times using an OBD-II reader, but the P0171 (Bank 1 lean fuel condition) always comes back. It's the only code present. From searching on these forums, I'm guessing that it must be a bad MAF unit? Please advise.

Thanks,
Nick

Default I had the same code. Was a crack in a vacuum hose.

Default 2nd. Look for tears in small hoses, especially at the clamps.

Hmm, took a look but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I don't really know what I'm looking for, though. Didn't see any obvious cracks or tears but I only looked around from above with the flashlight...

Did you ever get the P0171 problem resolved?
