Where is the A/C High Pressure Sensor (G65) Location in the engine bay?
Given a recent VAG reading of
00819 High pressure sensor (G65)
07-10 Signal too low/intermittent
I'm going to inspect and likely replace the sensor as it seems to be bad according to the error code.
Anyone know where this is located?
Thanks much.<ul><li><a href="http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/00819">http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/00819</a></li></ul>

OK, here is a less scary picture...

Easy to replace...
Remove the left headlight assembly, then the screw at the top of the black rubber molding. Shove the molding toward the centerline of the car (away from the headlight opening) and then you should have good access to the G65 sensor. Use two wrenches to remove the sensor, one on the sensor itself, and the other on the mounting boss to counter the torque of removal/installation. There is a schrader valve in the boss so you don't need to evacuate the system. The whole job takes about 15 minutes to complete.
I had to replace the G65 in my A4 last summer. Whenever I drove in a rainstorm or washed the car, the AC would quit for a day or two. It started failing only 10 days out of warranty. Probably best that it happened that way because I would have taken the car to dealer and they would have promptly f***ed something up while repairing it. I bought the sensor at a VW dealer. It was about $20 cheaper than at the Audi stealership.

Got to it last night easily, thanks for the write-up. Unplugging/replugging the connection
didn't seem to help, so I've got to buy a new sensor from genuinevwaudiparts.com for $47. If it fixes the issues, it's a cheap solution.
Thanks all for the help.

No problem. I wish all Audi problems were that easy to fix. BTW, are you sure it's the sensor?...
The code you're seeing could be due to a low refrigerant charge level. You might want to check that out before replacing the sensor. Sorry, I didn't read your original post closely enough the first time to point that out before. Anyway, $47 is a good price, about $15 cheaper than I paid. I couldn't wait for the sensor to arrive by mail in July in Florida!
