I take it this is a European-spec A4?
The U.S. ones don't seem to have the pass through behind the arm rest. 
At least mine doesn't, unless I was blind everytime I went in the trunk...
I remember the U.S. spec VWs don't have armrests in the rear because of steel plates in the seat backs... I guess the U.S. spec Audis don't have the pass through for the same reason (judging by the weight of the seat back).
