My cousin's 944 has been dumping oil into the intake system. He just rebuilt the top end and corrected a lot of crap the previous owner did, but he can't figure out where the oil is coming from. There is a device that looks like a catch can that comes off the side of the engine- is there some sort of media that needs to be replaced in there?

mine had some oil in there, but never a lot..
If he has too much positive crank pressure you can get oil in the intake and gum up the air flow sensor, but something is wrong if there is that much oil in there... The catch of the side with the braided hose is a gas recovery thing I think - does it go into the fender above the wheel?
