Mine were allowing the tire to move without me moving the wheel. Had pretty substantial bump steer that wore the edges of my tire pretty bad as well.

Look over the top of the tire at them and see if the dust boot is torn.
Then each of the fronts up separately. Once the wheel is off the ground try to turn the tire like the steering wheel would, if it turns more than the few degrees then thats bad.
