Q for Orlando folk - Anyone familiar with this shopping center/intersection...

West Gate Square Shopping Center
Located at North Hiawathee Road & Silverstar Road (sr 435)

If so, what kind of neighborhood is it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We're looking into the center for investment purposes. We were thinking of driving up to check it out. However, if it's in a bad neighborhood we don't want to waste our time.

When you compare it to the rest of greater orlando. There are far worse areas, but there are much better. I'd consider it below average, personally.

If that is the shopping center right there by the k-mart/publix.. or where those used to be.. Its not the safest area.

If you are looking to invest - maybe try Bay Hill area, further up the road by Metrowest, or maybe College Park.

You can also call the Sheriffs dept, and get a list of crimes in that area for a period of time, and what kind of crimes were committed.
