Default Just to say Hello

Hi folks. Recently got my UrQ going again and want to get active in the Audi Club again.

Tried to attend the Miami meet last night, but I guess it only gets going a little later than the 7:15pm stop that I made.

Anyone else in SFl with an UrQ?

Default UrQ is kinda rare in these parts

Previous generation Audis are more prevalent in the club in the Orlando chapter. Myself, I actually own a 1990 Coupe Quattro (have to sell it because I can't afford to fix what's broken). In the previous incarnation of the South Florida chapter back in 2000, there was someone with a white UrQ, but I haven't seen him in ages.

Miami meetings get going kinda late, like 10:00 PM.

The previous instance of the VW/Audi Get-Together (this year's instance is happening this coming Saturday February 28th in Broward county) had a representation of the previous model line ( http://www.sflgtg.com/Images/GTG11/soflgtg11-93.jpg) but it looks like they are not all that prevalent among those who go the club meetings. The GTG meetings in the past have been reflective of this rarity as well.

See these links for more information if you are interested in attending the new GTG regardless:

Default Re: UrQ is kinda rare in these parts

Thanks Victor. I might drop in to the GTG since its just up the road from me.

Looks like the Miami meetings are past my bedtime.

Need to show the folks their roots from time to time however.

Default True, True, but i can remember learning to drive stick...

on dad's 89 200TQ and parking it in the driveway just as the odo rolled over to 200K. Shoot he sold that thing for 2 grand with over 250K on it. Not to mention the 87 5k that saved his life on I-4.

Heavy thunderstorms on night on I-4 and a car came accross the median. The semi in front of him jacknifed and he was forced into the median to avoid the jacknifed semi and missed the trailor by less than a foot. He had to manuver on a wet sloped median at 70+ MPH. Quattro is probably the single most reason why he is still here today.

If anything, that is probably one of my major motivations to drive an audi with Quattro. If i can pay an extra grand or two for a car with quattro and it could save my life one day, i will.

That is why I am an audi fan.

Default Re: We have a member in Orlando with 2 (yes 2) UrQs.

Yup. I know Justin. He figured out my "clutch" problem which enabled me to get her back on the road. Met TX as well at Justin's place.
Used my trailer to take one of the UrQs up to Steamboat earlier this month for the Bridgestone Winter Driving School.
Good People!!
