Default Why would you want something heavier, slower and less efficient?

It is a bit smoother, but other than that I cant see any reason to go to the 6. Less mileage, and much less mod potential.

Default Well it is a lot smoother. If your not going to mod the V6 is the way to go if you want more power.

Default Well, wait just a little longer....

...some rumored changes coming down the road, like painted lowers (spring '04). And the A4s have improved even more since you bought yours; they come with an 18" wheel ultra sport option, standard tire pressure monitoring system, satellite radio option, and some other goodies.

BUT, I predict all A4s will get a serious bump in power by next summer....Audi can't afford to fall any farther back in the hp wars, and we already know that the 2.0L turbo is on its way, so next step would be for a bump in V6 power. Can't be that hard to get 250hp out of that V6.

I've not heard anything bad about the V6; smooth and powerful. And if you are not the type to mod your car, then it is the perfect car for you.

Default Agree... The 2.8's versus the 1.8t's is a huge diff as well.

Default The 2005 A6 will have a 250 hp V6.

I'm not sure how big the engine will be, but it will be based on the current V6. This came out of either AutoWeek or Automobile magazine.

Default Re: A4 3.0 owners? ur opinion?

I have a '03 3.0. I have 11,000 miles and have had the Upsolute chip installed for most of those miles. I recently installed Supersprint mufflers. I like the smoothness of the stock V6, I like it a lot more with the upgrades. More Torque and better throttle, improves passing. A lot of fun to drive.

Default No replacement for displacement, even if it's only 3 liters.

I for one am off the turbocharger bandwagon. I used to track my S4 a bit and the power wasn't very linear. The car was very fast, but it was moody. Forget about it as a street racer, one day it would smoke anything and the next day I couldn't keep up with a 330i.

Default Classic recieved some A4s with OEM painted lowers a couple days ago

Supposedly they had an optioned out 6 speed 1.8T Avant with painted lowers that sold literally hours after it came off the truck.

My car is in for 30000 and the weird rattle Thursday, so I will be checking them out
