Default Need some info from VW/Passat people. (looking for 2nd car)

I'm looking at a 2003 GLS or GLX and trying to decide which I should go with. The dealer quoted me $25900 for the GLS and $28500 for the GLX. Edmunds has $28164 for the GLX and $26832 for the GLS. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into what they paid and if this looks like a good deal.

One other option is a 2001 GLX with 17,000 miles on it, and they are asking $24,650. Any input it appreciated. TIA

The car is for my future mother-in-law so I'm trying to get the best price possible!!

Default I used to own a Passat, one of the best cars I ever had.

I originally wanted an S4 back in late '99 when they first came out. They wouldn't budge on the price at the dealer, so I settle on a 1.8t Passat. Loved the car, but ultimately traded in on the S.

Your best bet is to go to the forum below and ask this question. They always seem to have good info on what folks are paying.

Side note...are you planning to go to Sebring in late May? I'd love to get a look and run against your car now that it's firing on all cylinders. Also, check my post below, we're going Karting or doing quarter mile drags on May 23rd. I know it seems like a hike to do either one, but at least you'll be the baddest assed Audi there. I'll buy you dinner if you're willing to do the drive. Let us know.

Default Thanks for the info. cant seem to get a reply from VWvortex tho. I'll wait a bit still. I'm going

to be in Sweden and Germany during the Sebring event, but I have been trying to talk my brother and mechanic to go. My brother will either take my car and put in some harnesses or his track prepped 85 944. My mechanic has a 95 or something S6. I've been telling them about it early so they will close down the shop and head out there. I want to go so bad, but Sweden and Germany is hard to turn down. I'm sure my brother will take you up on the lunch offer tho! I'll keep you posted if they end up going or not.

Default Go for the used one. They haven't made any significant changes, no need to eat the depreciation.

If you are in the Orlando area I have a hook up at a VW dealer.

Default how could I contact you? I have some numbers that I worked out and would like to see

if you can match/beat them. I would rather buy from a AW car person than the local dealership. However, since the car is for my mother-in-law, I just have to find the bset price. If I can contact you, hopefully we can work something out.
