Default Will P21S wheel cleaner strip wax from wheels?

I wax the wheels every month (Wheel Wax or Blitz) and wash at least once every 2 weeks. I've been using this wheel cleaner for about a month now and its awesome!

The product description at www.properautocare.com states that it is a pH-controlled cleaner, does this mean its close to neutral on the pH scale?

Default I think that it's fair to say that any wheel cleaner will strip wax...

car shampoo would probably be the most gentle on wax.

Default It is close to neutral, but it WILL strip the wax.

I had Zaino applied on my wheels once. Sent the car to PES to have some suspension work done, and they took the liberty of cleaning the wheels with P21S. The car looked great when I got it back, but the next time I washed the car I realized the Zaino had been completely stripped from the finish.

Default Try PoorBoy's Wheel Sealant... (more)

P21s your wheels, clay them (to get rid of embedded brake dust) and then put on a few coats of the wheel sealant. Do 2 coats, with 1 hour setting between each coat... remove, then let it cure for 24 hours, 1 more coat on for one more hour and done.

You'll be amazed how smooth your wheels are and how brake dust seems to just melt off with water.

Autogeek sells the sealant.

Default Ultimately that's a better long term solution.

Stop using strong wheel cleaners, and migrate to plain old soap and water, and protect the wheels with something that lasts a while. I've used Zaino on my wheels in the past, and 2 coats will hold up for 3-6 months depending on conditions. During that period, plain old soap and water does a great job keeping the wheels clean. Carnauba wax is generally good for a month, and since I hate cleaning and rewaxing wheels, that just won't do.
