Default question about buffing out scratches on plastic -- non-car related

Is it possible to buff out or fill in scratches on a plastic surface? I have an iPod that has scratches all over the display area from the previous owner. None are deep enough that diminishes the view of the screen, but when held at an angle you see all the scratches. Taking out the scratches would be more of an aesthetic reason than funcionality. TIA

Default Back when I had my Miata

I did a fantastic job (if I do say so) of keeping the plastic window clean and scratch free. I had a three-step process. Eagle One made a special spray plastic cleaner (same concept as Windex), then I would use Meguiar's plastic polish. Occasionally I would use Meguiar's plastic cleaner as well. I'm sure there are similar products now, but at that time I was most pleased with the results.

Default 3rd... I'm addicted to the stuff.

I've been going around the house looking for stuff to use it on

Default I bought mine from properautocare.com but lots of online retailers carry it.

I've been spraying it onto a microfiber towel and working it in until almost dry and then buffing with a dry microfiber towel. Someone was watching me apply it to the tail lights and they noticed an immediate improvement in brightness and clarity, it works quite well.

Default Did you buy the plastic cleaner can or the plastic window cleaner kit?

The plastic cleaner didn't say anything about taking out scratches, whereas the kit did but more pricey. Again, TIA

Default I've got the aerosol can (plastic cleaner I guess it is)

I don't think it is as effective at removing scratches as the two-step Meguiars products (10 and 17). But it is quicker and does brighten plastics.
