Default Detailing on a budget? Help appreicated :)

Click the image to open in full size.

Hey guys... before I begin. I know you are all going to mention that I use the search (and I have ) I am just trying to figure how to get the best possible results in a limited budget of around $60.

First of all I have a Pine Green 2001.5 VW Passat Wagon GLX 4motion... (had to get 4motion in there :P ). I've frequent this forum and have looked at 2K2S4's detailing routines and others. I regularly wash and wax it but I haven't ever given it a full detail.

I'm looking to Clay bar it to get rid of the contaminants, use a polish to hide/ get ride of swirls and scratches, use a glaze to seal it all and then finally wax.

Need recomendations of the following products that fall within budget and offer the best quality.
1. Claybar
2. Polish
3. Glaze (is 3M IHG a glaze?)
4. Wax

Also if possible, where can I buy these products? Online or Stores?

Thanks for any help suggestions... this forum has given me the cleanining bug, my family thinks I'm crazy as I pull out the car to wash it every other week .

Default hmm...

Clay.. 3M IHG.. Blitz...

The Clay Bar you can get at almost any auto store or walmart/kmart/target..

3M IHG, I know AutoZone carries it.

One Grand Blitz, online. I dont know any local stores that carry this.

Hmm, $15 for Clay, $10 for 3M, $15 for Blitz, with enough left over for some MF towels and applicators.

Default What am I deemed crazy by the Detailing forum as well?

LOL... It's not my fault for wanting to have shiny/clean/pretty cars like yours. Plus its the summer and I'm 17... not much to do. Thinking of getting a car for a restoration project. Old VW etc

Default If you can afford a $30K car, you should afford the $200 or so worth of stuff

to take care of it.

Default Agree. Plus, a lot of this stuff will last for quite a while so it's not like you're blowing

$200 each time the car is washed.
