Default what to use to remove scratches from tiptronic shift gate?

I have some shallow scratches on the metal shift gate (from the attachment on my vacuum cleaner). Any suggestions on what product to use to remove the scratches would be appreciated.

Default Could try hard polishing with Brasso, or very very fine steel wool if you get serious

Default Be careful, though, as it's coated with a protective layer (almost like a

shellac). If it were mine, I wouldn't touch it.

Default Re: what to use to remove scratches from tiptronic shift gate?

I think it's really metal plated plastic.

I've never seen one that wasn't scratched (they may come that way from the factory).

Regards
