Default Red leather is mineee

Alright, this turned out to be a major PITA!! I got all set to drive to Indy to meet up with Hans and Tyler (who owned my car before me). Get down there, Nathan drops by from Dayton too, he was a major help.
I had totally forgot that while I had this car 3 or so years ago that Scott had a roll cage put in. This meant access to get the seats out was blocked on the furthest side. Basically I couldnt slide the seats back all the way due to the silly roll cage being there. I wasnt really happy.
So, we unbolted the cage and moved it around so we could get the front seats out, worked fine. Had them installed in my car in no time.

Got super good mileage, will be itneresting to see when I fill up next what my mpg was, but it looks to be in the very high 20's!

Here are some pictures.

Default More info

When I got the car in 2002 it had a chip in the windshield and it didnt crack across until last November or so.

The car has some history behind it. Blau built the car years ago (2000 maybe?) and has been a track only car for years until now. It has a nice binder full of modifications and paperwork, I think it really makes the car.

Unfortunately the car is in a worse state than the last time I saw it. When I got there Hans was RR'ing the rear pads and rotors. I think the car is still in decent shape, but is starting to emit more rust issues, but nothing like some other cars Ive seen. Hans said it has some running problem, but isnt sure what the deal is.

It has all the Blau stuff you can think of (head, throttle body, cam, rear sway, short shift kit, and other stuff like an oil cooler, H4's, H&R's/Bilstein sports, etc).

The cage was put in back in 2004 I think by a guy near me. I thought it was a silly idea and still do.

Hans said he was going to consider selling the car in the near future (a year or so?). I told him to let me know, because Id be interested in it.

I didnt take any pictures of the car yesterday, but I should have. A nice claybar and wax and it would actually look pretty nice.

Simply attaching an oversized lawn mower muffler to your '84 Civic does not constitute "Import Tuned"

Default Re: More info

Better hit the junkyard and pull the one from your old 4000S. OEM windshields aren't available new anymore. I'd rather have a nice thick piece of ECE approved glass instead of some Made in China stuff thats barely DOT approved.

Default Yeah...

I'll have to snag it probably. I thought the OEM ones were available? I coulda sworn I priced them from Impex a few months ago.

Default mmm... if he sells, and wants to pull the cage... let me know.

Not in the market right now, but once this car starts to see a bit more track duty, I will want to put a half hoop cage in the car so I can put in 5 point harnesses.

If you just drive it around town, having a roll bar is silly... but if you use the car on the track, it's not so silly anymore :-P

Default The cage

With all the seats out of the car the cage wasnt coming out. The only way would be to slice it and bring it out.
