Default Running rich?

The car is running rich. It has had a recent tune up including plugs, wires, rotar, fuel filter and a few other things. I know my T-stat is working because I checked that out. What else should I bee looking at I make long trips and would love the better gas milage.

Could a bad temp sensor cause this problem. What about the timing on the car. If its off would it run rich.. I think if its advanced it would run rich but my timing seems to be looser then it should rather then advanced.

Thanks.

Default yup check the temp sensor on the underside of the upper

radiator flange. You can also check mixture, but i would do that second. Temp sensors go bad a lot. Also look at the connector and be sure that it isnt corroded. The sensors are pretty cheap.

Default Sensor Info..

If the ECU sees high resistance at the sensor metioned above, mixture goes rich.

So, possibly a bad connection at the sensor(if any coolant leak there, a good possiblity), and the temp sensors seem good at going bad too.

They can fail either way. High resistance (runs rich), or short out (makes car very hard to start, but runs OK once warm).

Default The car starts easy. Once in awhile I will have a hard start and when I get a hard start I smell gas

right after. I never smell gas on start up except for when I have a hard start.
