From what I've seen you'll have to figure a custom way. But let me know what you come up with. I'm about 3 or so weeks away from hooking mine up

It sounds like you have an automatic donor car because of how you describe the linkage from the transmission to throttle. Keep the bar coming from the throttle going to the first pivot point at the back of the intake manifold. Use your 4000 valve cover and throttle cable to pull this pivot similar to the stock 4000 throttle lever.
I used an urq cable but since my donor was automatic I had to modify the throttle end of the cable. The manuals look like your 4000 does. The autos have a ball and socket instead of the black cable guide and clip. To adapt the cable I cut one of the ball/socket ends off an automatic linkage bar, drilled a small hole in it near the socket, fed the cable through the open end and out my hole, then hammered the thing flat against the cable. It's held up that way for several years now. My roommate used the 5ktq cable which works great at the throttle end but needed some sort of adaptation to the 4000 pedal. Hope this helps. -Derek L. Im not using my UrQ throttle cable or manual 5ktq throttle body if someone wants them cheap. Might make things a bit easier.
