Default Am I in trouble this winter?

There seems to be a lot more threads about problems people are having with their cars. Having never owner an Audi during a Winter (bought the car in the Fall), am I in for some "Winter Time Surprises" with these cars?

It's gotten really cold (more so then usual) here lately. The temp at night is getting close to -20 C (-4 F), and so far the car has started every time. Revs wander for a few secs, and the lifters clack, but other than that it seems to be great in this cold weather, not much different from the fall. Are there any common problem areas I should be area of?

Thanks.

Default Perhaps lupe the doorlocks and rubber sealings in the door frame, butr

that goes for all cars i guess.

I never really had any specific winter problems with my CGT.

Maybe you will need to change your termostat if the car is slow to heat up, or is having problems keeping the temp. up when driving, but thats minor anyway.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride :-)

Default I try to avoid locking my doors and using my e-brake...

My car has never been garaged in the 9 years I've owned her...she sits outside dealing with the PA winters. No winter-associated problems, so to say, other than usual maintenance stuff that can go wrong (pissed off alternator belt, washer pump, etc...). Like cgtdenmark says, lube some things up and you should be good to go.

Default colder here in calgary

I have few problems with the car until it gets below -25C where it takes a bit of cranking to get it to stay running at first. It has a tendency to stall a couple of times. If it hasn't warmed up enough it can stumble off the line. both are minor and the heated seats make up for any small issues
I've never had problems with the doors or ebrake no matter how cold it has been here.
We should see -35C with windchill by saturday. aaaahhhhh winter.

Default Re: Mine sat in Airports in Colorado for 3 years...

I found it started better cold than warm. My battery after 6 plus years needed replacing this year after the 1st cold snap... and watchout for bad gas.

Default I went to SAIT, for one year only (sucked)

Calgary didn't suck, just going to SAIT. I partied every night. Cow-Town rocks for parties.

Default RONDAL from the DOV is a prime example of that
