Default Source for NF rebuilt blocks?

My research continues. I have decided to keep the stock CIS-E injection and adopt an NF motor for my CGT. I am planning to use an Audi 100 exhaust manifold (to avert future cracking problems), with a Blau NF sport head ($1300). The question I have is: Where can I get a quality rebuilt block for a decent price? I went to the Audi dealer and they wanted $3700 for a factory reman unit....THUMP (the sound of me hitting the floor!) I may have to learn how to rebuild the block myself if I can't find a substantially better deal somewhere. How much labor would I be looking at to rebuild it myself. Is it as simple as changing out the bearings, rings and honing the cylinders? Thanks in advance for the input!

Default Dude, Eurospec of course!!!!

I couldn't find a price for a 2.3L but here's a link for a 2.6!!
2.6L eurospec prices

Your best bet is to find someone localy who rebuilds and mods VW engines, buy a junkyard 2.3L and have them rebuild it and port the head!!!

Default Wow, $2095? About 6 months ago they were $1700. Must be the Euro exchange rate.
