Default Pondering the ugly 'Rally CGT' paintjob below and thinking about a new one for my CGT - opinions??

I really like the look of the Alpine White CGT - but it really does need a fresh paintjob. I've been thinking about getting it done in Alpine white again but adding a diagonal red stripe - like an audisport logo... Tasteful or Tacky?

Default Are we talking this pic/idea? How big are you thinking your red diagonal?

I think I like the idea of a stripe...but this one is too patriotic candycane-ish?

Or are you thinking one stripe like this? (Warning: rough MS Paint job ahead!):

Obviously, the color is rough...but it sort of reminds me of the A4 touring car with the rings that go on the side of the entire car:

Default Speaking of new paint and Alpine White...

I just had my 5ktq painted...

It's Alpine white

I say just do the repaint. No stripes needed IMHO...

Default everyone, i'm going to free up one of my better ideas for a pinstripe...

i had planned on getting pinstripes made that start out at a point on the very front of the fenders, and at the rear fender of the car are about 1"-1.5" wide (taper back the entire way); the stripe is the german flag colors, and at the rear it would terminate into the 'quattro' script (for my 4kq). seeing as my cars are red, it wouldn't show up as well as it would on your coupe. if i was a smarter man i would maybe have some made with the audi rings at the rear, quattro script, coupe gt script, and market them... but i'm too lazy to do it. you could even make it a slimmer line, maybe only 3/4" wide at the rear if you wanted it more subtle. if anyone does it, let me know. -illig

Default Depends how wild you want to get

You can't go wrong repainting it the original color. On the other hand a large red audisport logo on the hood with matching red RST stripes would look pretty neat. Depending on where you live that might get you unwanted attention from the law or worse, from thieves.
