Default I'd stick with 55/60's for stock harness

The sky's almost the limit if you relay the lights.

Default You should make up a new harness with relays. The stock bulbs fry the original wiring.

Default Yes + additional info...

in my experience with H4's...

I absolutely agree with only using 55/65 watt headlights on stock wiring...

With proper relays 100/80 watts can be used...

The problem with using 100/80 and 130/100 watt bulbs is that they tend to create too much heat for the housings. BTDT x 2...

Again, this is from my experience with H4's, YMMV...

Default I've been running 80/100W in my euros and the only heat problem I've found is...

that the plastic connectors that I bought tend to melt.

Default I'd relay it either way.

Even with stock headlights, the wiring harness it somewhat lacking in our vehicles.

Eliminating the headlight switch (with relays) from the circuit that powers your lights will keep you from having problems with the switch in the future (fairly common problem really) & will have a pronounced effect on the intensity of your lights even if they are stock sealed beams. The wiring through which the circuit runs is pretty thin to begin with.

I would consider relays a must for euros of any wattage, personally. And a good idea even if you don't have euros.

My $0.02,
J. Lyons

Default Yep, I've had that problem also...

plus I've had problems with the chroming flaking off and the backplate distorting.

As I posted above YMMV.

Default Hey dB...

I may be getting some H1/H4's sooner than I expected. Are you good at wiring these suckers up? I know your only a few hours away, and will need help wiring and relaying them.
Just seeing if you had spare time at some point.
FYI, the next IndyAudi meet is THIS coming Sunday!
