Default Another fun day at the junkyard. (Many pics)

Well, went back to the junkyard in SB with Tim and Steve again. Got some good news, and bad. The bad news is, is that I couldnt get either the 4kq swaybar or the top airbox piece w/ fuel dist. Ground was too soggy, and there wasnt anyway to get that 4kq off of the ground. The top airbox that I thought was there, wasnt. And by the time we got all the rubbish and junk off of the other 4kq, it was about time for the yard to close. I apologize to Brad and RS90 for this, if it was any inconvenience at all!
Now for the good. It was a nice, decently warm day, not crummy like last weekend. Climbed my way into that Zermatt 4kq and started to hack away at the center console, instrument cluster, seat, and finally, the complete sunroof. Being the badge *****, I took the badging off of the 4kq, and scored a turbo badge from a 5kt. I also got a super nice leather steering wheel from the 4kq, as well as a drivers rear door handle. The pictures tell all. The car was buried, but Tim, with his trusty chainsaw, cut through some of it, and later, chucked branches onto other cars, which was pretty fun. We both had to savor the moment with a picture of victory. I did also, find Rockets part, after calling him from inside the vehicle to confirm that I had the right part. He was pretty shocked to hear from me
Im gonna take a picture of my stash tomorrow.
Here are a few pics for now...

Default Pictures, and description of that old 5k..

I have no idea why its there, perhaps a trans problem, as its an auto. Interior and under the hood look super nice, very clean. Within the week, the door handles were pulled, blah.
Wonder what engine code it is? The valve cover only has the 4 rings, and not the VW symbol, which was interesting too.

Default What's even crazier is that there's 2 of them there!

The orange one and a lime green (eek) one. Both 1978's!
