Default Once more, with feeling . . .

Today I agreed to buy . . . a red 1987 Audi Coupé!

Instead of the Special Build, this time it's a 2.2 with (egad!) . . . the automatic!

The car has a lot of potential, but for now it needs the usual - windscreen, rear muffler section, boot-lid struts, visor clips, mats, sun-roof gasket, etc . . .

I already have a wind-screen lined up, and the muffler end should go on the same day.

Then it's back to the fora and eBay for the 'bits and bobs'.

One big difference? I won't do the Plus-1 application unless a set of wheels pops up on the cheap.

What's the point of bigger wheels on a car putting 110 bhp through an auto-box?

First question: the turn signals click fast, and the hazard warning is not working. Turn signal relay? If so, where might it live?

More to come . . .

Default Welcome back...

...and I believe the relays are under the dash. The 2.2 isn't a bad motor, but I'd tend to disagree about the sportiness of the automatic transmission. Congratulations, and post pictures!

Default How much?

Click the image to open in full size.

I might be selling my special build because the auto-box has gone & I don't rally want to fix it because it will still be auto.

Not sure if I'm going w/ a 5 spd swap or parting out or selling whole.

Guess it will depend on if I get some offers for it.

Default Turn signal/hazard relay is under the instrument cover on the dash.

Default Doesn't the signals only click fast when 1 of the 2 signal lights on 1 side is burnt out ???

Default I'd prefer to . . .

. . . keep that to myself for the time being, as I may want to sharpen the car up to a higher standard and then turn it around.

The cost to 'get it right' will determine its fate . . .

Default Usually a fast click indicates . . .

. . . a burned out bulb on the side that is clicking fast.

This, however, seems to be related to the turn signal relay as all the bulbs seem to be okay, and the hazard warning flasher is in-op; both sides click equally fast.

Is the relay under the dash or behind the instrument cluster?
