Default ah crap....

well, sorry to post this here, but i like you guys better than the guys on the 80/90 forum... it seems that i may have to go for a 3B and not an AAN in RS2 sedan project. that will make it alot less "RS2". i havn't been able to justify getting the AAN over the 3B, and spending twice as much for the AAN. If anyone knows any very good reason to get the AAN instead (other than inherit performance differences. let me know.

Default A lot more money for 7 extra hp? You make the call.

Seriously, though, there are quite a few differences between the 3B and AAN(engine management, cams, etc), but you can upgrade the 3B to RS2 spec just like you can the AAN; it just takes a little more work.

Default well... alot more work...

the intake manifold won't fit, and the fuel rail needs some modification. but i just figure i'd be fine being around 290hp and not 315hp. i've also got some skill, so i'm sure i can tune it to spec anyway.

I think the intercooler and the exhaust manifold are the only differences, aren't they?

Either way the 3B is a better buy, with the money you save you can buy enough mods to make up the difference and some.

Default close... it's actually the intake manifold, the fuel rail... but it is a better buy.

Default newbie question...

what's the 3b come out of, and about how much do they cost?

Thanks!

Default comes out of a......

1991 Audi 200 quattro although there was also a 10v turbo available 89-91. Only the manual transmission 91' 200 quattros have the 3B (20v turbo).

They should cost between 2500-3000 as far as I've seen. You could get lucky and find a junkyard that doesn't know what they have, but I doubt it.

Default that's about right...

it's true that the 91 20vt was a manual, but it was more because all the quattro 200s were manual. also, all the 89-92 90 quattros were manual.
