Not the same.
The CGT unfortunately has the motor, cable and the whole works made all together. It's usually the cable that fails, but it's not user servicable to replace it so you have to buy the entire unit. Some vendors are selling 'remanufactured' ones but I have no experiece with those. I think the cable length may be different at the minimum due to the different size of the doors and windows, but I know that in replacing mine a few times the parts do not swap with the sedans. And no, they don't swap with the 5k's either. They are unique.

these are removable, albeit a PITA but they can be interchanged, but yes,
if the cable is broken you are SOL and need the regulator, not the motor. these cables usually break due to one of the plastic guides cracking and the cable fraying until.. snap and your window falls. HTH! -rich '86 4kq |

I got some "Electra-life" coupe regulators from Blau. They aren't too good, mainly becuase they don't match the curvature of the coupe's window. I'm still trying to "fix" mine to work right. It almost might be worth it to buy a the expensive factory version rather than put up with the headache.
