Default '86 5000 S Choices

I'm thinking what would be the best choice to make given my two vehicles. The 1986 Avant with computer, leather, deluxe everything and 300K+ miles. The 1986 Sedan with 150k miles and economy everything. Both have same motor and transmission. I just pulled the transmission from the Avant and am thinking that a transplant to the sedan is in order. The Avant had new brake rotors and pads. The Sedan needs CV boot somewhere. Both have P/S pump issues.

What would you do? The '86 Avant has been my daily driver for 8 years. I'm thinking that I fix the cv boot on the sedan and transfer the electronics as well. Keep the motor from the Avant (rebuilt head in 2004) and find a way to keep the aluminum wheels.

Don't mind getting dirty; just gotta know why...

Default Don't be "crazy", keep the Avant! ;-)

Seriously, so much more utilitarian than the sedan, and it sounds like you've got more luxury there too. If the Avant has the better motor, then I'd keep that car. I just went through a motor transplant on my 20v Avant, and it was no walk in the park...

Default Wait, you've also got an '89 Avant, right?

Do you REALLY need THREE Type44s? I mean, we all manage to collect them here, but do you really need three running ones?

Default Yeah, I'm a little bit crayz...

That's right! Three type 44s and no turbos or quattros. Looks like the sedan is going to donate parts.

Any ideas where I can find some interior trim pieces? The right (passenger) rear roof trim is broken on my '86 Avant. Guess I'd better start looking at the classified...
