Garage is empty, add now

Temp light flashing on dash

Yesterday while driving this light starts flashing.
I stopped and checked the coolant, I added a little but I don't think it really needed it. Nothing leaking under the car. Nothing from the radiator or water pump that I could see. Temp gauge on dash shows car at normal temp.
Any ideas? Maybe a bad sensor somewhere?
