Default Engine: What is this?

My friend and I were looking at the engine today and he asked what this was. I have never thought about it too much. Any ideas?

Default A "nozzle" is supposed to attach to that hose. It supplies cool air to the injectors after shutdown.

Default Thanks, anybody know the name of this nozzle?

Would my car benefit from attaching one or am I okay without it?

I imagine that without it a lot of crap is accumulating in there.

Does anybody know the name of this nozzle?

Actually, you're missing a piece of flex hose and the shroud that directs air from the fan across the injectors.

Item #6 is called an air hose, Part No. 055129087D.

Item #1 is called the "air deflector plate for injector cooling", Part No. 035133905J.

Good luck finding either one other than at a salvage yard. Make sure the blower (Item #7) still functions. It's Part No. 073959175C.

You should be able to get the flex hose at the stealership. I got mine there not to long ago, wasn't to expensive. Donno about the shroud though.
