Default Brake light on?

What exactly causes the e-brake light to stay on in my 89 200tqa? Calipers locked up awhile back, replaced them. I use the ebrake most of the time when parked, but light stays on most of the time. Sometimes off, or when i go over a bumpy road it flashes around from the bad road. Where do i look? thx

Default Re: Brake light on?

I'd ask which brake light, the one in the information center along with "OK", or the separate small red light indicating e-brake only? If ebrake only, nothing to do with fluid levels but more likely a flakey plinger swith below the ebrake lever.

Default incorrect:

low pentosin will cause the light to come on as will low brake fluid. if you want to see this go remove the cap from the pentosin res. and see if the light comes on.

Default Re: incorrect:

Quite right, quite right. Sorry, brain fart. Red Brake light can mean low fluid, bad bomb, or ebrakes/switch on. Back to your regularly scheduled programming!
