V8 auto tranny-no forward gears

1990 3.6 V8 sitting for many months. Got engine started. Has reverse but no forward gears. I will hook the Vag-com up to see if there are codes. Any BTDT on troubleshooting or any home remedies?

forward clutch-solenoid valve?

Run don't walk away from this car. Sound like the front clutch pak is shot or the transmission pump is shot. Why was this car sitting so long?

Unless you can wrench on the car yourself then walk away. Buy yourself a running car or if this is a hobby then I wouldn't offer any more than $500.00

I was just trying to get the car home to pull the auto tranny for a 5-speed swap. I've got the V8 5-speed already but was just hoping to avoid a tow.
