Default Shocks

Hey there. My rear shock is constantly creaking and its getting on my nerves because I live on a bumpy dirt road. So I figured I might as well get some new shocks. Was just wondering what's good and the best place to get them. Thanks

Default creaking might also be caused by tie rod bushings.

but I went with the KYB GR-2 shocks cause they're pretty inexpensive. Don't remember where I got them...

Default experiencing the same creaking sound from right rear suspension..........

I too will look at the tie rod bushing as a source of the creaking.

Last year I installed the KYB GR-2 struts, as well as KYBs on the front. Really like them. However, they provide a rather stiff ride. I rather like it that way, but it is still a little too stiff for my liking. I plan on upgrading tire size from OEM 185 X 70 X 14 to 195 X 70 X 14 on my na type '87. The addeded tire heighth should make my car ride a little smoother.

Default My squeak was the top rubber buffer...

In my case I had an annoying squeak develop in the left rear. It turned out to be the rubber buffer that insulates the top of the strut assembly from the body. The rubber looked OK on the old one but when I replaced both of them the squeaking vanished. Its not too hard to replace them. Requires spring compressor
