Default battery - boosting post wire splice

dim battery light and handbrake light all the time on - one of the posts saying about splice corroded in the passenger footwell below (?)the ecu, visible after lifting the carpet. Lifted the carpet the bunch of wires running straight - no splice. Where else would that be if any ? 1990 200 T. Any ideas ??

Default The splice exists on my two 5000s . . . not sure about 200

On the 5000s, the alternator side of the splice contains two conductors: the larger one goes to the starter motor / jumper post / alternator and the smaller conductor supplies current to the fuse & relay box on the driver's side of the car.

The 200 may be the same or different -- I don't know. You might wanna see how the fuse & relay box on your car gets its current. I think that I read somewhere that on later 100s / 200s the current is supplied from the starter motor "+" terminal, eliminating the need for a splice.

Default for the 200.

The battery splice is right below the recirc flap.
Pull back the carpeting, and you'll see a large grommet at the firewall. Main ECU harness, and a few other harnesses go through, also the battery cable. The splice is a few inches from the grommet.

HTH!
