annoyances persist w/ 5kcstq (long)

Couple of things are becoming a challenge with the 86 5kcstq I got recently. 1) Using the same w/g spring/cover assembly and chipped ecu from my wrecked car, it doesn't develop the same level of boost (1.5 most of the time, whereas my old car could hit 1.8). I've checked the usual suspects again and again looking for leaks etc, even pinching off the lower wastegate hose with minimal improvements. I did notice a unusual amount of oil in the intercooler and all the intake pipes when I had them off to strap the i/c. Could this be mucking up the compressor? How common is a partial clog in the cat or muffler? That caused the exact same condition in my Maserati Biturbo. 2) Still trying to pin down the rear window heater/ mirror heaters. As far as I can tell on this model (the rear defrost is the far right button on the HVAC control, as opposed to having it's dedicated switch) there's no relay for this feature, all the current is switched by the transistors in the control unit? If that's so then I have an open in every one of the grid elements (not that far fetched as when one is lost the current across the remaining ones increases causing them to overheat, etc). Also the pic is the demise of my beloved 87 5kcstq. Thanks in advance.

Not as attractive as it sounds. Due to the fact that the insurance doesn't pay blue book, they pay what they call "comps" (what same make model and mileage vehicles sold for). In my case it was especially bad cuz even though the car was in pristene condition and very well cared for it had 200k miles and most other cars of that age with similar mileage were P.O.S. and sold for almost nothing. Long story short; this happened in august and I'm still butting heads with the insurance company to get more than 1300$.

Well, there here are a couple of options for you

1.do your research - find a range of cars in the same condition as yours was. Print these out (autotrader, etc.)
2. Have a mechanic, or certified appraiser attest to the quality and condition of your vehicle.
3.Submit (insurance company)for an accurate replacement cost
4.Speak to someone higher than the $8/hr customer service idiot.
5. Small claims court for the residual (remainder) of the appraised/insurance value.
6.MOST insurance companies will NOT go to court to settle on $0 - $1000 (+/-) - this is not worth their time...
7. I have done this and it works!
