Default how long will a 200tq last?

im interested in buying a 1991 20v 200 TQ and im wondering about how many miles they will generally go, since i find so many but they all are above 150k. Ive heard that sometimes you can pull 300-400k out of them but will that require a lot of time and cash. What im really trying to ask is if its worth it to buy a 200tq with 150-200k miles

Default My 10v is just inches from 200k and it runs soooo smoth you'd never know the mileage

The engines are "bulletproof" and the turbos seem to stay in good shape as well. Many of these cars have been in executive use and the 50k miles have probably been done on the highway and the service intervall has probably been good. But of course there are real heaps of craps lying around... Basicly, don't just look at the odo.. let your knowledge and senses guide you (geesh... "use the force luke"... almost korny, but that's the truth)

Default It depends on the price and your willingness to maintain/restore it, but in general it's worth it.

I bought mine with 170k on it. You should have a source of cash for maintenance anyway tho', regardless of mileage. Don't expect it to not need anything.

Default 250k and few issues

Rear brakes have been replaced a few times, new heim joints long ago. Crank position sensor gave me fits for a while. New radio recently. Daughter learned to drive in it and will take it to college this fall.

Default Re: how long will a 200tq last?

I mean no offence but maybe you should buy a Chevy! A 91 200 20V is a special & rare car, & shouldn't be cared for in a frugal manner!
It is an old car though & if not bought from the original owner or at least the 2nd owner than you really don't know whats going on till you spend some time with it. So if you'r willing to look at the car & spend some time on it than it's well worth the market price. Ask questions & allways get work orders if none are available then I would run the other way.
Sometimes just saieng 200 20V will cost you more than a 10V (Know what I mean) I own 2 V8's & prices are out there.
Thanks
Ron

Default My 20v lasted over 300,000 and you would never know by looking at it

the 20valve parts are rare and i found that most parts are not interchangeable which made it more expensive to maintain. but over all i loved the car and it was worth ever penny spent.
