They're great vehicles for towing and will hold nine people, but IMO they're unsuitable for daily use on city streets by small statured people. I suppose that many soccer moms somehow feel safe driving these tanks because of their large dimensions. The fact that they guzzle gas is part of the whole conspicuous consumption appeal of status hungry yups. The fact that they can't handle them is lost on them.
BTW, I was struck by a black yuppie lady in a Jeep Grand Cherokee last June while riding my bicycle. She sailed right through a red light. She was on her cell-phone and told me "I didn't see you." Of course she didn't, nor did she see the red light, because she wasn't paying attention to her driving! I could also smell alcohol on her breath. |
