Default Concerning to the blinking lamp "brake" - Audi 5000S

It is so easy. All of the fluids are in normal level including hydraulic and brake fluid. Almost all of the sensors you mentioned are OK - I mean the sensors of hydraulic fluid, brake fluid and brake pads. All of them have separete indicated lamp and all of them start to blink in case of short circuit.
I'm not sure only in case of sensor behind brake master cylinder. I tried to disconnect the wires and connect them together- without any reaction........
but the "brake" lamp start to blink after a few seconds when I turn the key even if I don't start the engine (at first appear the OK lamp and after about 12 seconds start to blink the red triangle "brake". It's really strange because in this case there is no preasure anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Default Hey...

I think it's normal for the brake light to start blinking if the key is turned to the on position but the car is not started. Both of my cars do this and both have good accumaltors...

Now when the car is running:

If the fluids are all topped up and the sensors are fine, then most likely your brake pressure accumalator(aka the "bomb") is loosing pressure.

There is a test procedure for this. Use the search function and look for "bomb test"

Default Re: Hey... but ...

The sensor on the brake servo is the only one to sense that the accumulator is bad AFAIK and he has unplugged that without getting the light to go off.

I think that there is a continuity problem in the brake pad sensors.

Default Gotta respectfully disagree...

He has an 86. The symbols for brake warning and worn brake pads is so completely different there's no way to confuse them...

The low hydralic fluid, pressure and brake fluid warning is a red blinking "brake" warning on the auto check.

Worn brake pads is a orange symbol that looks like this (o)

There's no way to confuse the two.

I can't see how a continuity problem with the brake pads would trigger the low pressure/fluid brake warning light.

I still think he has a bad bomb and didn't disconnect the right sensor up at the MC/servo. He needs to get back to us with more info and do the bomb test IMHO.
