Default Brake test??

Hi I have an Audi 5000 S like I've said in recent posts and I have read a lot of different places about this, "being able to pump your breaks ten times before they lose power after the engine has been turned off." Now I can only do this pump about 2 times if that beofre I lose power. I just got them serviced with new pads and rotor turning and they feel great so is there anything i should worry about?

Default Yes! You need a new (AKA pressure accumulator)

Most likely you will not notice that you need it during normal driving conditions, however if you need to do an emergency braking, which is when you REALLY want to have your brakes working, you will notice that the pedal gets hard and you don't quite have the power to stop.

Cheers,
Zsolt

Default That's not a cheap item. I am not sure exactly...

maybe around $200 bucks, but it's not hard to install for someone who knows what he's doing. (I wouldn't want to do it, but I am no mechanic)

Do a search for "bomb", nearly everyone has done this. It is located under left side of engine compartment. There are three connections. acount for all washers. Pretty easy. Make sure to not lose any fluid also, it costs alot.

Pump the brakes before attempting to remove the 'bomb' to relieve any built up hydraulic pressure
