How did you check them?
I'm trying to figure out if I'll need to do mine as well. TIA.

The trans wings are fairly straight forward. The left side is a piece of cake. The right side is a bit tighter, and you need to remove the heat shield that covers it (3 8mm wrenched screws), and the cat is really close to it, but both sides can be done in car without removal of other components.

Bad mounts come from age and heat cycles next to a hot turbo... First ck to see how close the pan is to the subframe. The pan should sit level at the back, a bad RSMM will list to the Pass side. Or,just pull off the 2 15mm nuts holding the MM to the subframe, a bad motor mount will drop the cup into your hand. Also, funny exhaust noises during on throttle application and leaking exhaust studs are both results of bad right side motor mount.

Tranny mounts are easy. Of course, my subframe is laying on the floor, so it's 2 bolts per and they're out.

Yup...The only problem with the pass. side mount is that shield doesn't always want to come off w/out some mechanical coaxing (rust). I actually left the shield in place on the '86, just bent it "a bit" for tool clearance.
